Delete your account and data

For OUTBREAK: The Signal by Cognision

OUTBREAK creates an anonymous cloud account to back up your save and take part in community events. It has no name, email or password. You can delete it at any time.

In the app

Open the Journal.
Go to Reminders & save.
Tap Cloud backup and confirm Delete.

This deletes your account from our server straight away. Your game on the phone stays, and no new account is created unless you turn cloud backup on again.

Without the app

Email hello@cognision.eu with the subject "Delete my OUTBREAK data" and include your recovery code (shown in the Journal → Reminders & save). Because the account is anonymous, the recovery code is the only way we can find it. We delete it within 30 days and reply when it's done.

What is deleted

Your anonymous account and its access token
The cloud copy of your save
Your last coarse area (a ~2 km map cell)
Your contributions to community events

What is kept: community event totals (a single number per event, e.g. "41 of 60") that no longer link to you. Server access logs, which contain IP addresses, are deleted automatically after 14 days.

On your phone: your game, step data and settings stay on the device until you uninstall the app or clear its data. A No-Ads purchase belongs to your Google Play account and isn't affected.
